Frequently asked questions

1) Order period
Can I place an order now?

Please place your order only from mid of March till the end of September. Earlier or later orders cannot be accepted because of the cold weather conditions in Germany

2) Time of delivery
When will I receive my plants?

March, April, May:about 3 – 4 weeks
June, July:about 2 – 3 weeks
August, September: about 1 – 2 weeks

Please let me explain. Immediately after publishing our new plant list in spring we normally get a large amount of orders so that the orders quickly pile up. Because there are too many orders to be handled in a short time the time of delivery prolongs. Three weeks are not unusual in springtime. So it is quite possible that an order which is placed by the beginning of May will only be handled by the end of May. Later in the season the time of delivery will come down to approx. 10 days. We hope you will understand.
Please be assured that we will do our best to handle every order as quick as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

4) Availability of plants
Are the following plants still in stock?

To answer your question is – I am sorry to say – impossible. When you place an order today there might be more than 50 orders ahead of yours. So it will not make much sense to predict what will be still in stock when we start picking your order. Due to these daily changes of our stocks it is not possible to give any information about the availability of plants. We hope you will understand.

Availability of ordered plants
Which plants from my order will be available?

Dear customer. I can understand very well that after placing your order you would like to know which plants you will get in the end. But this is a question almost impossible to answer. Immediately after publishing our new plant list in spring we normally get a large amount of orders so that the orders quickly pile up. Because there are too many orders to be handled in a short time the time of delivery prolongs. 3 – 4 weeks are not unusual in springtime. So it is quite possible that an order which is placed by the beginning of May will only be handled by the 20th of May. Therefore an information given by the 1st of May is of no use if your order is handled 20 days later. Our stock is changing every day and therefore it is impossible for us to predict which plants still might be available at the day when we finally pick your order. We are sure you will understand.

5) Plants not listed in the online shop
Do you have the following plants which are not listed in your online shop?

It will be a pleasure for us to answer your questions about our plants. But it would be nice if you could restrict your questions to those plants which are listed on our current online shop and not ask any questions about plants which we do not offer. This will safe us a lot of time in the office and will leave us more time to care for the plants and the handling of orders which will be to the advantage of all customers. We hope you will understand.

6) Posting with EMS or UPS
Can you send plants by EMS or UPS?

According to the regulations of EMS and UPS it is not allowed to send living plants or living animals. They will not accept a consignment with living plants. We therefore can not send plants with these companies.

7) Posting without CITES and Phytosanitary Certificate
Can you send my order without CITES and Phyto?

All consignments with living plants which are leaving the European Community must be send with a Phytosanitary Certificate (if necessary with an additional CITES declaration). These are the international regulations. If a consignment without these documents is entering a country then customs can reject such a consignment. Depending on the country regulations such parcels are either send back or destroyed. Moreover the attempt to import a consignment without the necessary documents can cause serious problems to the person importing the goods as well as to the company sending the consignment. It is possible that the person who has ordered the consignment will be fined. In some countries such an attempt is also considered to be a criminal act. In such a case it is not unusual that customs will contact the authorities of the country of origin – which then would be Germany.
I am sure you will understand that we are not looking for this kind of trouble. We therefore strictly do send consignments outside the European Community only with Phytosanitary Certificates.

8) Pictures of plants
Is it possible to get a picture of the following plant?

Sorry, but we can only offer the pictures on our online shop. It is much time consuming for us to take and send single pictures to customers during our main season. We hope you will understand.
